A Digital camera is used to capture photographic images of the back of your eyes, although this has mainly been superceded by the State of the art eye scanner (OCT). It is primarily used for NHS Diabetic Screening. However it can also be helpful in detection of other eye diseases such as glaucoma, hypertension and macular degeneration to name but a few.
